Christmas Morning
On Christmas morning I woke up at 7am to set up the camera and figure out what I was going to shoot. My plan was to get my dad to call my little brothers down as it was Christmas morning and I would shoot their raw reactions. So my dad called them down and I started taking pictures of my little brothers. This picture was taken of my youngest brother and my dog as he was crawling to the tree to open his gifts while my dog was playing with her new toy. I liked it because it was a raw reaction that brought back some nostalgia of opening gifts as a child. My editing process was super simple, all I did was put up the exposure and bring down the contrast a bit and up the saturation.
The Night Before Christmas
My 2 youngest brothers planned on staying up to catch Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, but as expected they did fall asleep too early. I saw them plopped on the couch watching Christmas specials and thought it might make for a nice picture. I like this photo because just like the previous one, it brought on a nostalgic feeling and reminded me of the days when I would do those types of things. My editing process for this was very similar to the previous one, I upped the exposure as it was a pretty dark picture due to the lack of light in my living and I upped the contrast to bring out my younger brothers bright sweater.
Stockings
Every Christmas my family sets up our personal stockings along the ledge above our fireplace. I’ve always enjoyed how my mom decorated this area of the house so I decided to shoot different decorations, angles, and corners in the room. This picture was the one I liked the most because there is balance and symmetry to it along with vibrant, warm colours. For editing, all I did was up the exposure and saturation along with bringing the contrast down just a tad.
