Mathew Brady was also a photographer who gained a lot of recognition from his work. He was given permission to photographically document the civil war. His collection of images from the civil war allowed people to know what was happening on the front lines and also gave people perspective.
Dorothea Lange was a photo journalist in America. She was very skilled at what she did and her images are still recognized and exemplified as great photography to this day. Her most well known photos are from the 1930's during the great depression where she documented people's lives during that era.
Eadweard Muybridge was not only a photographer but also an inventor, he may have used the camera but he also made one called the zoopraxiscope which was capable of producing a series of images of a single object. This invention was very helpful for understanding human and animal kinetics and was also a big breakthrough in the world of photography.
